Dr. Krautmann attended the University of Missouri and completed his dental degree at the University of Missouri-KansasCity. He earned his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the Medial College of Georgia. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
He and his Spouse, Suzanne, are parents of one daughter, Katherine, and two sons, Charles and Edward, and Have two grandchildren (yippee!!). Suzanne has been an elementary school teacher for over 30 years.
Dr. Krautmann is retired from the United States Army Dental Corps, having served 27 years in Germany, the United States, and Iraq. He has treated Native American children in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana, as well as indigenous folks in Guatemala and Paraguay.
Dr. Krautmann has enjoyed singing and dancing in several Keene Lions Club productions. He prefers moving grass to shoveling snow. His extensive perennial flower gardens have been featured on the Keene Garden Tour. He plays golf and really thinks that he will get better someday. He does crossword puzzles and is getting better.
The Krautmanns are continually reducing their usage of fossil fuels. They have driven a Prius over five years at 49MPG. In July 2009, they installed a 3 Kilowatt photovoltaic system at their home in Keene; they are happy to report a 40% reduction in their electrical bill. Their rain collection system helps supply the gardens during dry spells with free water.
Suzanne and Paul love visiting their children, who have lived in New York, Washington, New Mexico, Colorado, and are presently settled in California and Peru.
